Building a Mindful Business Recap at CVAR YPN
Building a Mindful Business with AI: A Recap of the CVAR YPN Education & Networking Event with Gabriel Perez
On the evening of March 20, 2025, something powerful happened at the Citrus Valley Association of REALTORS® headquarters in Glendora. A room full of real estate professionals, entrepreneurs, and curious young minds gathered for an experience that blended modern technology with timeless business wisdom. Titled “Building a Mindful Business: Master AI for Business Success,” the event was part of the CVAR YPN Education & Networking series, and it did not disappoint.
From the moment attendees walked through the doors at 5:00 PM, there was a buzz. Maybe it was the excitement around artificial intelligence and what it could mean for their real estate careers, or maybe it was simply the joy of being surrounded by people who were hungry to learn, connect, and grow. Either way, the energy was electric—and it only grew stronger as the evening unfolded.
The event was led by two dynamic speakers: Gabriel Perez, Team Leader at Keller Williams Pasadena Realty and founder of Catalyst Coaching & Consulting, and James Woods, CEO of Dat Yoga Dude and a corporate wellness strategist with a deep background in mindfulness. Together, they delivered a presentation that was equal parts energizing, thought-provoking, and refreshingly honest.

Gabriel opened his portion of the evening by making one thing clear: AI isn’t just a trend—it’s a tool. And like any good tool, it’s only as effective as the hands that wield it. He challenged the audience to stop thinking of AI as a robot ready to replace them and start thinking of it as a thought partner—an invisible collaborator that could help them become more human, more consistent, and more strategic in their businesses.
He asked the audience how many had a business plan. A few hands went up. Then he asked how many had that plan written down. Fewer hands stayed raised. And finally, how many look at their business plan every day? That number dropped to just one. It was a moment of honesty that everyone in the room could relate to. Because the truth is, many real estate professionals set goals, but few create clear, actionable paths to achieve them—and even fewer revisit those plans regularly.
That’s where AI comes in.
Gabriel walked us through how to use ChatGPT, not as a gimmick, but as a serious business planning assistant. With the right prompts and a little creativity, agents could generate detailed business plans tailored to their personality, schedule, and preferred work style. Using frameworks like the GPS model from the book The ONE Thing, he showed how to craft a one-page business plan with a single goal, three core priorities, and five strategies for each. It’s simple. It’s powerful. And it works.
What made Gabriel’s approach so refreshing was how personal it was. He didn’t just talk about numbers and systems—he talked about the why. He shared his own journey, from starting a CrossFit gym at 23, to becoming a real estate agent, to now leading an office of 180 agents. He admitted that cold calling made him want to quit. Instead, he found his success through community events and referrals. And with AI, he’s now able to coach others to discover their own personalized path to success.
One of the most exciting parts of the evening was when Gabriel introduced the idea of integrating personality assessments into AI-powered business planning. By uploading a DISC profile or Enneagram type into ChatGPT, he demonstrated how you could receive tailored strategies based on how you actually like to work. If you're an outgoing networker, your plan might include more events and content creation. If you prefer quiet, focused work, your plan might focus on database management or email marketing. There’s no one-size-fits-all strategy—and that’s the beauty of it.
And let’s talk about time blocking. Gabriel broke down how to use AI to categorize your tasks into “big rocks,” “pebbles,” and “sand,” and then showed how ChatGPT could help build a weekly schedule around your most impactful activities. By identifying the 20% of tasks that generate 80% of results, you can reclaim your time, protect your energy, and stay focused on what truly moves the needle. That kind of clarity is what helps prevent burnout—and that’s something everyone in the room could appreciate.
Of course, none of this would have landed so well without the grounding presence of James Woods. He opened the event with simple yet powerful mindfulness exercises and encouraged everyone to tune in to their own well-being. It was the perfect complement to the high-energy conversation around AI and strategy. Because what’s the point of building a successful business if you’re too burned out to enjoy it?
As the event came to a close, there was a feeling of genuine connection in the room. Conversations flowed. Ideas were shared. People were inspired. And that’s the magic of events like these—when education meets community, and when technology meets heart.
